A Heart That Has Grown Through Seasons: Faith, Family and Feeding the Soul
A Heart That's Grown Through Seasons

Over the years, I have launched several blogs, Andrea Plans, Adventures with Andrea and most recently, Through the Seasons of Motherhood with Andrea. Each one reflected a chapter of my life as I navigated motherhood, homemaking and faith.
But in 2024, something shifted.
At the start of the year, I wrote down a goal that became a cornerstone:
“To deepen my relationship with God and grow spiritually.”
Looking back at it now, I had no idea the journey that was ahead of me. 2024 stretched me in ways I could not have anticipated. Things that once held weight started to lose their grip and what remained was a deep hunger for purpose, peace and presence in my home as well as in my heart.
The Rooted and Fed was born from that space… not from perfection, but from a woman who wanted more than a survival in motherhood. I wanted to live intentionally, build a Christ centered home and create a space where other moms could feel seen, supported and spiritually nourished.
Faith + Foundation: Why This Space Matters

As a Christian mom, I believe that faith isn’t just something we speak, it’s something we live. It influences everything: the way we parent, the meals we make and the tone we set in our homes.
Motherhood in my opinion is a calling. I see it as a privilege and a sacred responsibility. Our children are a gift from the Lord and I do not take that lightly. Whether I am preparing meals, managing the day to day or praying over my children before we separate for the day, I want everything I do to reflect the love of Christ.
Feeding My Family- Physically & Spiritually

In our home, meals are primarily home cooked by either myself or my husband. Some days we prepare creative, well balanced dinners with a protein, a veggie and a starch. Other days, when time is short, we keep it simple with something like burgers and fries and that is ok.
It’s never just about what is on the plate. It’s about gathering as a family, being present and using meal time as a place of connection.
What I Needed as a Mom But Couldn’t Find

While in the thick of motherhood, I have often felt I was the only one trying to manage everything while trying to stay rooted in faith. I couldn’t always find Christian spaces that felt very relatable and resourceful.
So I created The Rooted and Fed to be that space, a grace filled, faith based blog for moms who are hungry for more than survival. Here I share…
- Budget friendly meal plans for big families
- Screen free printable activities or kids
- Faith based encouragement for overwhelmed moms
- Practical homemaking routines that bring peace instead of pressure
Values That Guide My Home + My Heart

When raising my children, I keep three key values at the center:
- That each child develops a personal relationship with Jesus
- That our home cultivates a strong, loving family bond
- That they grow up with high standards for themselves and how they treat others
My past church experiences as a child were not always welcoming, which is why I have been intentional about building a different spiritual foundation for my kids. I have intentionally looked for a church community with a strong children’s ministry, one where my kids feel seen, included and excited to learn the Word at their level of understanding.
What It Means to Be Rooted and Fed

This blog is for the mom who is trying to do it all but wants to shift her focus to what matters. For the mom who is tired of rushing, yelling and feeling behind and instead wants to be rooted in faith and led by grace.
The Rooted and Fed is more than a blog. It is a shift back to simplicity, intention and Christ centered motherhood.
